HISTORY OF BARA'IMUL IMAN COLLEGE

Bara’imul Iman College was established on 3rd July, 2000 at its permanent site as a day co-educational institution with a vision of providing quality education rooted in both Islamic values and academic excellence.

The institution began as an Islamiyya evening school, established primarily to provide free and accessible Islamic education for children from less privileged families, including the children of watchmen, labourers, and other low-income earners residing in the GRA area. At its inception, the school enrolled 27 pupils under the guidance of three dedicated pioneer teachers: Mallam Shuaibu Abubakar, Malamah Rahmatu Abubakar Yamta, and Mallam Dunoma Mustapha.

In September 2002, the school expanded its services by introducing the Nursery and Primary School sections in response to the growing demand for an educational system that combines sound Western education with strong Islamic moral values.

Following the implementation of Nigeria’s National Policy on Education, which introduced the nine-year Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme, Bara’imul Iman College established its Junior Secondary School in 2006. The pioneer JSS1 class admitted 47 students, supported by nine qualified teachers. The first set of students completed their Junior Secondary education in 2009, achieving commendable academic success.

Encouraged by the outstanding performance of its students and the increasing confidence of parents and the community, the Proprietor, Mallam Shuaibu Abubakar, established the Senior Secondary School, thereby providing learners with uninterrupted, holistic education from the foundational to the senior secondary level.

A significant milestone was achieved in 2012 when the school received official accreditation from both the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) to present candidates for their Senior School Certificate Examinations. The school presented its first set of candidates in 2013, recording excellent results in both examinations.

Today, Bara’imul Iman College continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence, moral discipline, and character development. The school remains dedicated to nurturing knowledgeable, responsible, and God-fearing individuals who are equipped to contribute positively to society while meeting global educational standards.
